SUMMARY:Basic Neonatal CPR Course
DESCRIPTION:The Health Research Institute Foundation of Santiago de Compostela (FIDIS) together with the Neonatology Service of the University Clinical Hospital of Santiago and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela\, organize the BASIC NEONATAL CPR Course\, directed by Dr. Natalia Mandiá Rodríguez and Dr. Mª Luz Couce. \nCourse Objectives: The objectives of the course are to know the key concepts of assistance and cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the newborn\, to introduce basic knowledge of neonatal anatomy and physiology\, promoting the learning of anticipation and preparation\, to apply the sequence of initial action in the assistance and resuscitation of the newborn in the delivery room and the initial care of the most frequent special clinical situations and define and assess ethical aspects of the performance in the delivery room. \nCourse Content: The course will be conducted in person with prior availability of the theoretical content so that students can learn and become familiar with basic neonatal resuscitation algorithms. It will have a theoretical exam prior to the beginning of the course in which the initial level of the students will be evaluated and a theoretical and practical exam at the end of the course. The theoretical classes are brief\, with an estimated duration of 15 minutes each and will serve as a review of the resuscitation sequence prior to carrying out the practices. \nAddressed to: Physicians and Specialists in Gynecology and Obstetrics\, Nursing of the Obstetrics Service and Midwives. All of them\, staff of the University Clinical Hospital of Santiago. \nVenue: Perinatal Simulation Classroom (Gil Casares Hospital; Complexo Hospitalario Universitario de Santiago). \nDate: March 2\, 2022 \nHours: 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. \nRegistrations: \nRegistration fee: 70 euros (entry by bank transfer) \nNumber of participants: 24\, divided into 3 groups of 8 people \nRegistrations will be made exclusively through the following link \nThe reservation of a place will be made in strict order of application. \nActivity accredited by the Autonomous Commission for Continuing Education of Galicia (in process). \nPlanning: \n16:00 – 16:15 Introduction and presentation of the course. Ventilation technique and CPAP/Ambú. chest compression technique \n18:00 – 18:15 Break \n18:15 – 19:00 Practice 3.
