DESCRIPTION:The HULA Pulmonology Service and the Galician Public Foundation Health Research Institute of Santiago (FIDIS) organize the Technical English Program (Pulmonary embolism). \nThe objective of this program will be to update you on the treatment of pulmonary thromboembolism\, with sessions in English advised by a native teacher. \nYou can consult the complete program here. \n  \nSpeaker: Dr. Luis Pérez del Llano. SUMMARY:Seminario: Estudio de solape genético entre el síndrome de distrés respiratorio agudo\, el COVID-19 grave y la fibrosis pulmonar
DESCRIPTION:El próximo lunes\, 8 de julio de 2024\, a las 13:00\, nos visitará Beatriz Guillén Guío\, investigadora del grupo Genetic Epidemiology de la Universidad de Leicester\, que impartirá el seminario “Estudio de solape genético entre el síndrome de distrés respiratorio agudo\, el COVID-19 grave y la fibrosis pulmonar“. \n  \nTítulo del seminario: Estudio de solape genético entre el síndrome de distrés respiratorio agudo\, el COVID-19 grave y la fibrosis pulmonar. \nResumen: Algunos pacientes con COVID-19 grave desarrollan enfermedades pulmonares mortales\, como el síndrome de dificultad respiratoria aguda (ARDS) y la fibrosis pulmonar (PF). Actualmente\, no existe cura para el ARDS o la PF\, lo que subraya la necesidad de realizar más investigaciones. Utilizamos enfoques de superposición genética\, incluidas puntuaciones de riesgo poligénico\, para identificar genes compartidos y mecanismos biológicos entre PF\, ARDS y COVID-19 grave. \nPonente: Beatriz Guillén Guío\, investigadora postdoctoral becada con la Sir Henry Wellcome Trust en el grupo Genetic Epidemiology de la Universidad de Leicester. Su investigación se centra principalmente en la genética del ARDS\, la fibrosis pulmonar idiopática (IPF) y la COVID-19 grave.
