En nuestra unidad, desarrollamos nanopart\u00edculas capaces de actuar como transportadores de f\u00e1rmacos, para lograr una acumulaci\u00f3n selectiva en tumor y met\u00e1stasis, aumentando su eficacia y disminuyendo los efectos adversos relacionados con una distribuci\u00f3n indiscriminada por el organismo.<\/p>\n<p>Gran parte de nuestra actividad se centra en el desarrollo de terapias dirigidas basadas en biomol\u00e9culas como son prote\u00ednas, \u00e1cidos nucleicos, p\u00e9ptidos, o apt\u00e1meros. Nuestras nanopart\u00edculas son sistemas seguros, biocompatibles y biodegradables, capaces de proteger a este tipo de biomol\u00e9culas frente a procesos de degradaci\u00f3n, favorecer su paso a trav\u00e9s de barreras biol\u00f3gicas, y su acceso al lugar de acci\u00f3n, en definitiva favoreciendo su traslaci\u00f3n a la cl\u00ednica.<\/p>\n<p>Exploramos adem\u00e1s la oportunidad de aplicarlas en el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas de diagn\u00f3stico empleando t\u00e9cnicas de imagen molecular.<\/p>\n<h3>L\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n<\/h3>\n<p>El objetivo principal de la Unidad de Nano-Oncolog\u00eda es explorar estrategias innovadoras, basadas en la aplicaci\u00f3n de la nanotecnolog\u00eda, para desarrollar terapias m\u00e1s eficientes y seguras, y nuevas herramientas para diagn\u00f3stico avanzado de la enfermedad. El paciente est\u00e1 en el centro de nuestra investigaci\u00f3n, y tenemos en cuenta, desde fases muy tempranas del desarrollo, cuales son los puntos cr\u00edticos para que nuestra tecnolog\u00eda pueda llegar a la cl\u00ednica.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestra actividad se puede resumir en los siguientes puntos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dise\u00f1o y evaluaci\u00f3n de nuevas nanoterapias y nanoinmunoterapias para lograr tratamientos m\u00e1s efectivos y seguros, e interferir con la formaci\u00f3n de met\u00e1stasis y progresi\u00f3n de la enfermedad.<\/li>\n<li>Desarrollo de nuevas herramientas de diagn\u00f3stico para imagen molecular basadas en nanotecnolog\u00eda. El objetivo es lograr diagnosticar la presencia de peque\u00f1as agrupaciones de c\u00e9lulas tumorales que dar\u00e1n origen a la formaci\u00f3n de met\u00e1stasis.<\/li>\n<li>Aplicaci\u00f3n de nuestra tecnolog\u00eda en otras \u00e1reas de conocimiento.
