O grupo combina ambos aspectos, desenvolvendo modelos de cancro que permitan estudar a influencia de determinadas mutaci\u00f3ns na patoxenia e a s\u00faa resposta \u00e1 terapia. Anque a base molecular dos tumores \u00e9 complexa, a activaci\u00f3n aberrante de certas v\u00edas de sinalizaci\u00f3n intracelular, as\u00ed como a inactivaci\u00f3n de v\u00edas dependentes de xenes supresores de tumores, son caracter\u00edsticas com\u00fans \u00e1 mayor\u00eda deles. Se ben, nos \u00faltimos anos logr\u00e1ronse grandes avances no co\u00f1ecemento da fisiopatolox\u00eda dalg\u00fans tipos de tumores, son necesarios m\u00e1is e mellores modelos precl\u00ednicos capaces de recapitular determinadas caracter\u00edsticas do tumor, como a capacidade de invasi\u00f3n, a heteroxeneidade celular ou a neoanxiox\u00e9nese.
