Organization of the foundation
About us
The Fundación Pública Galega Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela (FIDIS) was created in 2001, as a result of the merger of the IDICHUS Foundation, the University Hospital Complex of Santiago and the FIDI-Xeral Calde Foundation of the Lucus Augusti University Hospital of Lugo.
The Fundación Pública Galega Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela (FIDIS) is a non-profit foundation with its own legal entity, whose ultimate goal is to improve people’s health and quality of life, creating a healthier future and transferring cutting-edge biomedical research results to society.

- Sergio Vázquez Estévez. Member appointed by the Ministry of Health at the proposal of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Head of the Medical Oncology Service at Lucus Augusti University Hospital.
- José Ramón González Juanatey. Member appointed by the Consellería de Sanidade at the proposal of the President of the Board of Trustees. Head of the Cardiology Service of the Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza Health Area. IDIS group leader.
- Enrique Domínguez Muñoz. Member appointed by the Consellería de Sanidade at the proposal of the President of the Board of Trustees. Head of the Digestive System Service of the Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza Health Area. IDIS group leader.
- Federico Martinón Torres. Member appointed by the Consellería de Sanidade at the proposal of the President of the Board of Trustees. Head of the Pediatrics Service of the Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza Health Area. IDIS group leader.
