María Francisca Lago Paz is a doctor in biology and a SERGAS/Miguel Servet I3SNS Group A researcher. She has been principal investigator of 13 research projects with public funding by the Carlos III Health Institute and the Xunta de Galicia. He has directed 4 research contracts with private financing by pharmaceutical companies (1 with Pfizer, 2 with Boehringer Ingelheim and 1 with Novartis) and more than 10 projects financed by other funds and private companies. He has published 145 articles in relevant journals of the Journal Citation Report (h-index: 42) and 11 book chapters. He has participated in the academic activity of the University of Santiago de Compostela and has directed 6 doctoral theses so far. It belongs to the Center for Biomedical Research Network of Cardiovascular Diseases (CIBERCV), and previously to all the Thematic Networks of Cooperative Cardiovascular Research (RETICS:REDINSCOR, RIC) of the Carlos III Health Institute. At European level, it participates in the European Commission Olive-Net Project (2017-2022) (ID: 734899) financed by H2020-MSCA-RISE-2016, and in the Programma Operativo Nazionale Research e Innovazione (2021-2022) of the Ministry of the University and Research (Italy).
