Objectives and lines of research
Objectives
The overall goal is to improve knowledge and treatment of blood diseases, as well as the development of advanced therapies using blood cells.
The group is open to research in all areas of hematologic diseases, including oncohematology, anemia, coagulation disorders, platelet disorders, and hemotherapy. In the field of advanced therapies with blood cells, it will develop lines of work aimed at therapeutic use both for blood diseases and in other areas of medicine.
Specific Objectives
- Promote clinical trials with drugs for blood diseases
- Promote clinical trials involving cell therapies (hematopoietic stem cells, lymphocytes, mesenchymal cells, and other cell lines) for blood diseases and other medical fields
- Support registries of blood diseases and therapy outcomes
- Integrate morphological and genetic diagnoses with treatment strategies
- Translate the results of clinical trials into clinical practice
- Contribute to a better understanding of rare blood diseases
- Collaborate with other research groups at IDIS, the University, and national or international scientific associations in the field of blood diseases
- Collaborate with the pharmaceutical industry in the development of new therapies
- Collaborate with patient associations for hematologic diseases
Research Lines
- Cell therapy in lymphoproliferative diseases and myeloma
- Cell therapy in autoimmune rheumatologic diseases
- New targets in myeloid disorders
- New platforms for cell therapy using blood cells
- Registries in cell therapy, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and various hematologic conditions
