AREA: ONCOLOGY
Objectives and lines of research
Objectives
We have two fundamental lines of research: (i) the exploitation of cellular machinery by viruses in order to improve their replication; (ii) the cellular molecular pathways involved in the control of viral execution. We are especially interested in the role that ubiquitin-like proteins play in both processes.
Lines of research
- Identification of the mechanisms of viral pathogenicity including those that lead to oncogenic transformation
- Study of cellular molecular pathways involved in cell cycle control, cell proliferation, oncogenic transformation and antiviral control.
