Lead researcher of group E041 - Epigenomics in Endocrinology and Nutrition

Ana B Crujeiras, Miguel Servet Senior Researcher of the National Health System, director of the Epigenomics in Endocrinology and Nutrition group and is co-coordinator of the Epigenomics Unit at the Santiago Health Research Institute (IDIS). She has a degree in Biology from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC, 2002) and a PhD in Physiology and Food from the University of Navarra (UNAV, 2008). She carried out her postdoctoral training in the field of Cancer Epigenetics at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) thanks to a Sara Borrell postdoctoral contract from the Carlos III Health Institute. She is the author of more than 130 publications in international journals (main author in more than 50% of them), 8 book chapters and more than 80 conference proceedings. 76% of her publications are in the top 25 most cited. In total, she accumulates nearly 18,000 citations and an H index of 43 (FWCI:10.80). Her scientific activity has led to the registration of 4 patents. She is an assigned member of the CIBER of Pathophysiology of Obesity and Nutrition (CIBERobn) and of the International consortiums NCD Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC) and member of the board of directors of the Spanish Society of Obesity (SEEDO). Additionally, she is an associate editor at the journal Reviews in Endocrinological and Metabolic Disorders and the journal Nutrients. She is an external reviewer in several national and international project calls and participates in industry advisory committees. She has participated as an invited speaker in several national and international conferences and symposiums and has received awards from the European Society of Obesity (EASO), the Spanish Society of Obesity (SEEDO) and the Galician Society of Endocrinology, Nutrition and Metabolism (SEGNM).
