Dr. Calviño has worked in several hospitals and clinics, including the Lucus Augusti University Hospital (HULA), the Ourense University Hospital Complex, and the Pontevedra University Hospital Complex. He is currently the Head of the Nephrology Department at the Lucus Augusti University Hospital (HULA) in Lugo and the President of the Galician Society of Nephrology.

He is a specialist in Nephrology and has obtained several degrees and certifications throughout his career. He graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 1992 and completed his Nephrology residency at the University Clinical Hospital of Santiago de Compostela.

A specialist in kidney diseases, he has led research on hereditary kidney diseases, kidney transplantation, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and conservative treatment. He has published scientific studies such as “Renal Failure Associated with Fibrate Use” and participated in various conferences on topics within his specialty.
